Who is the Koltiva Cluster Leader?

The key responsibility of the Cluster Leader is to assess the capacity of Koltivas program staff and to prepare and deliver a variety of Training of Trainers (ToT) activities for capacity development methodologies such as Farmer Field School (FFS) group training and individual farmer coaching. Training topics include good agriculture practices, certification, and facilitation skills, tailored to the needs of the targeted audience.


What are the key responsibilities of the Cluster Leader?

1. Management

  • Managing field staff, activities, and budgets to function optimally and in accordance with Koltiva procedures and policies
  • Develop a teamwork plan to achieve the activity targets set by Koltiva management
  • Identify and evaluate the risks that may arise related to activities carried out and take appropriate measures to control the risks

2. Supervision and Assistance

  • Supervise the implementation of activities in the field, by Field Agent Business Support (FA BS) and Training and Coaching Specialist by providing direction, input and feedback related to FA performance
  • Ensure that the FA prepares work plans and provides regular achievement reports
  • Provide training and technical assistance to members of assisted community groups, partner companies, traders, purchasing units, mainstay farmers and FA Koltiva in the target area of activities
  • Ensure that all FA have received orientation and attended training on the use of data collection applications, and others relevant to work according to Koltiva standards

3. Data collection/ Farm inspection

  • Planning and carrying out data collection or garden inspection activities
  • Dividing the target of farmers/farms to be inspected by each FA BS and dividing the target of Traders or Agents to be trained and accompanied by FA BS
  • Ensure the FA has sufficient capacity to carry out data collection or garden inspections
  • Ensure that all farmers\\\' farms belonging to the group, or the target farms of the registered partner companies are visited, and data taken or inspected at predetermined times
  • Examine and verify data collected by FA BS
  • Convey problems or obstacles that arise when using the data collection application to the Customer Service team or product team from Koltiva

4. Training and Coaching

  • Planning and carrying out training and coaching activities
  • Asigning the target of farmers to be trained and coached by each Training and Coaching Specialists
  • Ensure the FA has sufficient capacity to carry out data training and coaching
  • Examine and verify training and coaching data conducted by Training and coaching Specialist
  • Convey problems or obstacles that arise when using the application to the Customer Service team or product team from Koltiva.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the performance of FAs, or activity partners such as farmer groups at the target locations
  • Monitoring group member farmers, partner companies, traders, purchasing units and stakeholders in carrying out agreements on the implementation of activities
  • Monitor and evaluate FA performance on a regular basis
  • Ensure that all activities carried out in the field comply with all relevant government regulations
  • Monitoring partner traders regularly to ensure that the traceability documentation process runs well and correctly
  • Provide weekly and monthly monitoring and evaluation reports or at predetermined times to the Project Manager as agreed.

6. Business Support, Traceability, Data and Documentation

  • Train FAs to be able to carry out data collection tasks and merchant assistance in accordance with the Koltiva standard operational procedures
  • Ensure that the traceability and data collection process runs according to procedures from the farmer level to partner companies
  • Ensure that merchants, purchasing units, partner companies and Field Agents can use the KoltiTrace app, and that traceability documentation at every level is filled, updated, and stored properly
  • Ensure that all traceability-related activities are recorded, documented, and stored properly

7. Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with assisted farmers, traders, partner companies, government agencies and stakeholders in carrying out activities
  • Collaborate with other Cluster Team Leaders to ensure effective and efficient program implementation
  • Coordinate closely with Koltiva\\\'s Development team to ensure that data collection, Training and Coaching, and traceability applications function properly

8. Reporting

  • Provide periodic written reports on activities and target achievements to the Project Manager
  • Report the findings or evaluations to the Project Manager of Koltiva and provide recommendations to improve performance
  • Provide key information or reports requested by clients or partners through the coordination and approval of the Koltiva Project Manager

9. Representation

  • Represent Koltiva in every activity related to Program Implementation, in a professional, honest manner while maintaining the good name of Koltiva

10. Other Tasks

  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Project Manager or management of Koltiva

What are the requirement of the Position?

  • Bachelor degree majoring in Agriculture, Forestry, communications or relevant
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the relevant field and/or project management
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Managerial or supervisory experience in planning activities and managing budgets
  • Experience in facilitating community development activities
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications and familiar with Android-based devices
  • Communicative knowledge of English language (both written and spoken)
  • Experienced in mapping and approaching stakeholders
  • Have a driver license and, ideally, a private two-wheeled vehicle
  • Experience in the field of Coffee Agriculture will be prioritized
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mind and strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn new things
  • Willingness to work in Chiapas, Mexico, and travel to other key landscapes in Mexico
